I dunno if anyone here ever really tried my map mod with the loopy spiraly thing (of death) in it, but I've just made a version upgrade with another building to go on it. 'Tis a night club-ish building with a DJ set and stuff in it. Not really much to do here at the moment since there's no peds or missions involved with it yet, but yea, just thought I'd spam post it in case anyone was interested. At the very least, you might want to try it for the new hideout and three car garage if you haven't already. Pics:

To use this, you will need to have version 0.6 installed (get that here if you don't). And you can get the new building here. To install it, just add the new .dff's and .txd to their proper .img files, and pop the new illando folder into your maps directory.

I have Majestic's Gilles Villneauve race track installed which I really need for testing car setups.  Will this interfere with it?
The track runs from the East blockaded tunnel in SSV to north of Portland...

DUUUUDDE!!!!

Thats pretty cool, sadly i cant use it since i dont have gta3 at the moment. My old hardrive has lots its marbles and wont boot up, i've tried afew methods suggested on the MS website, which begin to work then screw up. seems the bootsector keeps corrupting itself even if i write a new one, and having this "UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME" even using another hardrive connected to try and pull its data without booting it didnt work, since it has trouble detecting it.

Anyway, This means i will have to get it up to the shop when i have the time(and money) so this means you wont be getting that nissan from me for awile cerb.

I'm using an old 1.5gig at the moment, so there is'nt really enough space for much except windows.

Anyway that place is looking great, what about scripting some moshers in there?

@Cerb- Methinks this will clash a bit with Majestic's race track. I haven't tried that yet, since my game is always on the verge of crashing due to all the  stuff I'm making. But I think you would surely run into the object limit of the game with both installed.

@Eddy- you mean the Ford KA, no? Is it an upgarde of the Street version, or a new one altogether? If it's a new one, you think you could re-up the other one to carman? I tried installing the old one several times, but it crashed my game on each attempt. I dunno if there was somethin wrong in the readme or what, but I'd like to see one that works so we can add it to the page. :)

@Busted- Sorry to hear about your drive problems there. I went through something similar a week or so ago with my boot sector, and had to reformat my whole drive. Quite a pain really since I had 3 partitions, Win98, and WinXP to reinstall. :/

But yea, I plan on adding some peds to the club at some point. Not sure how to go about making them dance, but perhaps I could force the actors to loop part of the 'stick-up' animation or something? With the next release I hope to include another main.scm, with missions for both the islands I'm working on. Remember that castle thing I told you about before? Here's an early render of it:  link.

Ah, in that case you won't have me dissecting it and pointing out loads of unimportant imperfections. :D
Just for the record, the GP track is located in the below topic, towards the bottom:

It is a beta release.  Install instructions must be followed implicitly.  You need to import the TXD file for the tunnel as well - that isn't explicitly mentioned in the readme.

just to ignore the topic (since I haven't tried the new version of illando yet, sorry ill), I was trying out the race track last night. it's not bad, though obviously an early beta. still, shows masses of potential.

great to see people modding maps at last..

Sorry ill, my bad wording, i meant to say to cerb that my next car is nearly ready for him to make some handling files for it. Caterham 7 btw. But yeah I will be posting on the carmanager. As for that streetka, its not worth it, the normals are screwie and the cars looks crap compared to stuff im doing now. Anyway.... I like the mod ill :)

Whoa. I finally just tried out Majestic's Gilles track. Very very nice.  :o

And yea, Cerb, in the readme it says that it Portland doesn't work with Gilles installed (which it doesn't), so illando won't work then either since it's on the SW coast or Portland. Heheheh, 'tis probably for the best then, at least for you... if you were to try and point out all the imperfections and pointless bits on my island, you'ld waste your whole life away. :p

Id love to try, but to be honest im getting confused. Ive already got a million gta3 directories, with snow mod this and blah blah that. I need mods with a simple installer and uninstaller. this backing up and re-backing up is so time consuming and wasteful of space.

Looks great from pics though.

I don't try out mods for thier novelty; I only have the racetrack so that it gave me an excuse to ask for more racecars to be built! :D
As a result I only have the one installed.  However, most people are playing the game for fun rather than to supply a service [whorage]to which all requests are considered[/whorage] so don't have the stuntparks and suchlike.

I thought an installer had been developed for generally installing modded files...certainly for all the car-related ones I know there's a totally indynamic one that compiles the file data into it's own EXE.  Bit like WinZips self-extraction utility really.

just tried out the new map, though there have been lots of changes since 0.5 which is what I last played.

I like it, really coming along nicely. Couple of niggles here and there (mainly transparency issues with the fire escape), but the design is great. I love the new building too, the curved door is gorgeous heh.

Had a weird thing happen in the tall building (the fish thingy or whatever). Came in off the top floor and dropped down the elevator shaft, as you do, and jumped over the boxes on the palette. That was fine, but coming back I jumped over them again and ended up on the floor above. Which was odd. Saved me hurting myself mind. Well it would have done, but I wanted to try and recreate it so I went down stairs and ended jumping out the window anyways..

Oh and as for the no peds thing, dunno if it's intended or not but the triad on the top of the spiral thing made me jump lol.

But yeah, nice work. When do we see the three main islands getting replaced then? ;)
