:#@ The transparency on my 1965 Ford Thunderbird is really annoying me now! And i wondered if anyone can offer help. My problem is this: The ledge between the back seats and the rear window won't appear, leaving a gaping hole in the car. I know the ledge is actually there because when you look at the car through the front window the ledge is there, but through the back window the ledge is not.

I have a similar problem with the wire wheels on the car. I have used a partially transparent (alpha channel) image for the spokes, but the brake disc behind the spokes won't show in some places. You just see right through it to the road behind.

I also have 2 other problems with the car. One of the dummies actually appears in the centre of the car as a little black diamond shaped thing, and I've no idea which one it is!

The other problem is the car seems to work fine most of the time, but crashes the game when I drive through certain areas in it.

Please help, it's driving me insane!  :o

The transparency problem is most likely a result of your material order. Just move your windscreen and other see-through-ish stuff to the very bottom of the materials list to fix it. It'll probably still look strange in ZMod, but should look just fine in the game.

Not sure what could be wrong with your dummies. Perhaps you have a duplicate or just misspelled one of the names? I know it sounds silly, but sometimes it's the simplist things that get ya. ;)

And as for the game crashing, erm, I dunno. If you have lots of other mods installed, it might be that you've just gone over the filesize or object number limit for one of the .img files. My game crashes if I cross Callahan bridge with the InterCity Highway mod, and my custom island installed. :/

Huh? How do you actually move materials. The materials editor only has delete and copy functions. Do you mean move the materials or the objects using those materials, more info required! Problem remains unsolved! :o

I still can't suss the dummies either, although the game does seem to crash less frequently since I clicked rebuild archive in IMG tool

You gotta help me doc, If I don't finish this car I can't start on the next one!

BTW updates webpages with downloadable version of this car coming as soon as I

1.)Fix the above problems with the car
2.) find a decent free hosting site

HEEEEEEEELP!

thanx

in the materials editor copy the transparent material to make a duplicate. Then delete the original (it'll prompt you saying all objects using this material will be set to the default, click ok).

Then, if your car is completely skinned you can select by material, otherwise select all the to be transparent faces in the normal way. Then assign them to use the new material from the bottom of the materials list.

This is from the zmodeler DFF filter info in the filter folder.

"Each dummy object have to be indicated by ZModeler's
    miscellaneous flag1. (Right-click on the object's name
in objects bar, pick "Properties...", in the first page
of Attributes dialog box set 'Meaningfull for: GTA3' and
    checkmark 'Dummy Object')."

From experience the vehicle heirarchy must be correct.

If you are able to get so far before it crashes it is another vehicle that is causing the problem, the crash occurs as that vehicle needs to be used.

I hope this is understandable and what you need. :Y
