GOURANGA! Forums > General > Help > What TCP/IP ports are required to multiplay GTA?

I'm asking here because I know there are people here with loads of GTA experience so you might have the answer.

Basically I need to know the ports I need (and preferably less than about 5 because my main server is stingy with opening up ports) that I would need to play the TCP/IP GTA multiplayer (I've just downloaded it again you see).

It's annoying that it can't find my friend's game because we're on a huge LAN here at uni halls but until the relevant port is opened we won't be able to find each other's games =(

    Please help!

    47624 udp/tcp
2300-2400 udp/tcp (this is a random port in that range)

They are standard directplay ports used by many games.

If your router/firewall software can't detect the negociated port automatically then you have to forward all 100 ports.

You could run netstat everytime to see what port gta is trying to use and then map that but that's not fun.
