Ok so these have been a bane in my side for ages. Basically for those who haven't spotted, the comments pages created automatically for each car are infested with fucking twats.

So quick query, does anyone see any real benefit of them? My suggestion is we just use the forums if you want feedback on cars. Ok so you might only get it from a more select group, but to be honest looking at the majority of the comments posted, is that a bad thing?

Hey, just notice, I'm asking before doing something vaguely adminy. Must be getting soft in my old age..

Maybe change the comments area to a rating scale. People can give the car a 1* if it sucks, up to a 5* for the best.

But then we'll probably get a bunch of morons who'll just give 1s (or 5s). Probably best just to scrap the entire thing, if it can't be moderated properly.

I agree. The comments pages have always been a breeding ground for dicks. Get rid of the buggers.

trouble with IP banning is it doesn't work unless they use cable or I just cut to the chase and block AOL..

ok bollocks to it, I've killed the comments on the GTA and GTA2 sections. I'm waiting for schu's input before deciding whether to kill the GTA3 ones.

My suggestion is perhaps add a new board for finished car reviews here, as opposed to the car previews section for wips. That way those who are serious about getting feedback from the masses can do so, but in an area where I can administrate, as opposed to the comments which was starting to resemble the pits..

A board for finished cars is a good idea. Theres been too many stupid posts on the car manager system. Its a shame it the comments have to go but its the right decision.

Blocking AOL is an interesting idea ;)

I rember the good  days where the cars were more important than comments and little bugs on the site.

back at the begining there were no comments. well aint the main part the cars?

haven't done any for a couple of weeks, but no one was doing them so I thought I would.

And as it happens I'm doing quite a bit of behind the scenes work for a new site we're getting ready to launch.

I would do stuff to my site, but when you spend all day programming in various languages the last thing you want to do when you come home is sit down and edit php. I usually end up playing about at www.miniclip.com instead lol
