Have a look in the back of the manual. Usually you can get dodgy/damaged discs replaced for a small charge. Prolly be less than 90 dollars, which is the equivilent of a pencil over here :]

thanx for that. one problem though. i no longer have the receipt for proof of purchase and i wont be able to take it back to the store i got it from. i have tried sending a game back once and they lost it so i dont think i will risk that one again. by the way you really seem to care about peoples problems ICEY. thanx

I never buy games because I always lose the box/case and I don't ever wanna risk this again. B) <- look it's sunny here in Belgium.
No really: no cd cracks are so easy to find that I don't see why you so desperatly ask in a forum instead of deperatly looking on goggle or altavista or yahoo or lucos or...
And your broken CD, isn't that proof that you bought it? (I dunno, I'm not an expert when it comes to support with games).

EDIT: Just ran trough my mind, but you didn't mention what this favorite game was, ICEY can't give you no cd cracks without knowing what we're talking about. (I'm rambling again as you see). GTA3 is two cd's big so I assume you still have the installation CD, even more proof that you bought it.  :p

Well, I wouldn't give out links to CD crack's anyway. I agree you should be able to play a game you have purchased but I dont give them out because people tend to use them for warez and other nonsense like that. Like that guy who wrote the program to view his DVD on Linux which was found to be legal, but then he distributed the program and got in trouble :)

I also like your new search engines there Gunman :]

You might as well try taking the game back to whoever you got it from. Take anything that would show it was purchased from there, like some stickers from the shop on the front/a bag etc etc. If they dont give you a new version they might have an alternative suggestion.

As for the losing the CD thing. You might as well at least try it. That was probably just a one off incident and is unlikely to happen again. You could always do my moms trick of phoning them and giving them hell until they finally give up and end up giving her seven years supply of free games to get rid of her :D
