Just got this by email:

"Five years ago Carl Johnson escaped from the pressures of life in Los Santos, San Andreas... a city tearing itself apart with gang trouble, drugs and corruption.  Where filmstars and millionaires do their best to avoid the dealers and gangbangers.

Now, it's the early 90s. Carl's got to go home. His mother has been murdered, his family has fallen apart and his childhood friends are all heading towards disaster.

On his return to the neighborhood, a couple of corrupt cops frame him for homicide. CJ is forced on a journey that takes him across the entire state of San Andreas, to save his family and to take control of the streets.

Liberty City. Vice City. Now San Andreas, a new chapter in the legendary series. Grand Theft Auto returns to the PlayStation?2 this October."

Early 90s, sounds pretty good. Just hope they're selective about the soundtrack, the 90s were guilty of some absolute shite lol.

It sounds like San Andreas is going to be a big fucking city.

State? No doubt that's California.  none

Maybe they'll have a San Francisco section, Los Angeles/Hollywood section, and a Disneyland section (blast them mascots!).  laugh

Also, for those who never played it, download the demo of Rockstar's Midnightclub II.

      www.rockstargames.com/midnightclub2/downloads.html

The game was build on the GTA engine. It gives an idea of what the engine is capable of. Probably not the best streetracer you've ever seen, but that's not the point. It might give an idea on how GTA San Andreas will feel like. Not 'toy cars' but more realistic feeling vehicles. Not 'dumb' traffic, but eehm.. also more realistic. And of course a bigger map.

The demo is set at Los Angeles. So download the demo and get in the mood for GTA-SA. The game certainly feels like GTA while driving. However, there is not much more to do besides cruising, racing and crashing.

I think the *dumb* cars in GTA3 was kindof intentional. Not saying I liked it, just that I wouldn't be surprised if the cars in GTASA had the same kind of handling characteristics.

I feel that GTA:SA will be huge. So huge that it would make all the other GTAs feel worthless, therefore demorilising all of the original, GTA modding types.

After I complete the core missions on the PC version, I'll hopefully be able to make my third Handling Overhaul to go along with my GTA3 and GTAVC ones.  However, that depends on my having access to the home computer.

The storyline sounds like there will be some rather lengthy cut-scenes with much dialog.  Hopefully they won't be trying to make the game super-serious because there's only so much that will work in a game where the cars corner like huge RC models and there's companies called "Fudge Packing Corp" and double-entendres litter all the advertisements. rolleyes

Faze, they're games, they don't have emotion. The CD's don't start sobbing when you put them away.
