I am new to this site registared less than 30 minutes ago. I am a beginner at exchanging cars and at GTA But, very experienced in 3D modeling, Auto-cad,designer programs and graphics. I have a 427 cobra that i designed that has over 37,000 vertices(detailed down to the A-arm bushings.. a 7 month project).
My Question is...     Is ther a limit that GTA3 cars can have, i am sure there is.. simply because it would slow down gameplay. Also,
i tried a test the other day to put what i got into the game it(GTA) did not like that.. froze up ...thank god for that backup made before.. I might need some body to help me actually put the car into the game..Some of the tutorial seems to me like a foriegn laungage or something i can`t comprehend... I will post some previews soon to take your comments...

The number of vertices is not that important, the number of faces is more important. The GTA3/VC engine isn't that critical about that, though. It just depends on how powerful your GPU is. I've heard of people running cars with over 200000 faces fluid ingame, and on my humble Geforce 2 Ti system, I can still run cars with about 40000 faces ingame.
The more likely reason for GTA crashing is either wrong dummies in your model or wrong model hierarchy. You should have a look at one of the ingame models and see how it's done there. Also, there's a dummies and hierarchy tutorial on azz.gouranga.com.
