WTF where do I come into this Mr Citrus?

I don't know what half of you are on about "remembering prodmaster" you weren't even here.

Pauls advert for it on the old. old forums (not to be confused with the old, old, old forums) was legendary.

No. You don't. How many people play your mods?
How many people play Half Life mods?
Will your mods be as popular when they are as old as CS now is?

Poke 646 was the best single player Half Life mod ever, IMO. I doubt there will be a GTA mod up to that standard.

Besides, Valve released the tools for Half Life modding, I don't see R* doing that for GTA games. Hence, the mod makers are slightly more limited.

Can somebody show me where delfi told me why this site is crap? Cos I was probably not paying attention/here and would like a read.

Also, will please dont be horrible to delfi - he did good work for the old gtas with stuff. It may be amusing slighty (I ain't bothered to read your post or even his properly - yes I am lazy) but he means no harm. I think he is just frustrated at this forums general lack of interest in modding and stuff. Personally I ain't too bothered about the newer gtas that much and this site can sometimes be amusing. Hehehe. Ok I've got bored of writing now.

Cheers, Daniel

Yeah, Delfi is kinda fed up we don't do much modding now the 3D's ones have come out. I don't think hge likes how we all just fill the GTAzz section with general chit chat. :(

I can see his point, but, we're a community and we chat on other issues too.

I suppose we did get lazy mod wise though. Heh, Shame, but I did loose all my stuff when my file system crashed. I'd got my GTA2 map something like 50% done too, I was working on and off on it, got pretty far. (Ain't getting decent lighting a bitch at times?).

I know Delfi done alot of stuff for the GTA scene, I use alot of it! But why slag us off just because our modding section is dead?

Summary: Delfi doesn't like the fact our modding section isn't at the cutting edge of GTAness. And not alot hapens in it much anymore.

ROFLMAO!

Erm, you guys do realize that the pits have like 200 members on at any given time. Most of which are quite happy to spam up their own forums. Let alone the joy they would get spamming someone else's in retaliation. In short, it would be like bringing a wet chihuahua to a gun fight.

As for trying to h4x my box. Umm, okay. While you're doing that, keep in mind I can see your IP here, and it's really not a thing for me to rewrite gtanet's dns records to send a million bytes per second of packet traffic (including any hack attempts contained therin) screaming down the lines at ya. ;)

Hahaha. Hello old Illspirity :D :) Why are you an admin here, lol. They seem to give them out willy nilly these days. I personally don't see why everyone cares about GTAforums really unless they are for some reason jealous of them O_o

Meh, GTAForums seems to be alot of toss with editing inserted betweenthe toss. Some good stuff if you seek it out.

Which I cannot be bothered to do.

But Half Life scene is MUCH bigger.

Illy, you show up to defend the pits. You got a net search that notices when it's mentioned somewhere? :P Man, I miss Snowball city. Gotta re-download that. Thanks for Reminding me...

makes no sense Delfi. We gathered together a somewhat huge collection of 2d artists. To then expect everyone to no only be capable but have the inclination to want to work in 3d just doesn't work.

I'm sure the majority of the stallwart carmakers who've been around for a while will agree that it's not about making cars for GTA, it's about making cars. Yes we all love GTA, but we're not about to up and change paradigm just because the series moves on.

Just a thought. or two.

Not only the series, but the people move on too. Guys who were 17 at the time are now pushing mid-20s, of course they're not going to continue modding computer games...

And don't anyone mention Lingster.

exactly. i entered the scene by making cars for the original and sending them to the SACI. i then moved here when the saci closed and got involved in the whole gta scene, but only made cars for gta1- never bothered with gta2. gta1 cars were fun to make, and i have tried making 3d cars but im not good at it and dont have the time to learn, yet  i have enjoyed being part of the small community here which is why i have stayed. should it really be mandatory that i have to put aside time to learn how to use Zmodeler or whatever in order to continue to be part of the scene? should i really have to go out and spend 60-odd quid on a graphics package in order to make gta1 cars to stay in the scene?
if i had the time i would love to be great at 3d design and spend time making cars for gta but at the moment and in the near future it just isnt feasible! i will probably never go back to making gta cars unless i feel inspired, and i havent felt inspired like that in years. i am i happy to acknowledge the effort that people put in to continue to make cars for the whole series, but as for myself its not gonna happen so Delfi your just gonna have to deal with it! im sure there are plenty of people here like me or who would agree with me so just stop bitching yeah?

I agree with Alfa, making GTA cars is not nearly as appealing as it used to be. I used to just sit in front of my computer and start making new cars, but now I often sit in the same chair and wonder what the heck am I going to do when I have nothing else to do. Making another car sure crosses my mind everynow and then, but I don't feel the same urge I used to feel, and most of  the time I just get up and go watch a DVD or something. It's not that making GTA cars is boring, I had to make one a month ago and I really enjoyed making it and realize I still got the hang of it. But it's that first impulse to start something new that I don't feel anymore...

I know exactly how you guys feel.

We've simply moved on, but making cars was quite alot of fun because not only did you have the satisfaction of making the car, but you could play with it in game too. So it was good for many reasons.

Some of us don't play the original GTA anymore, some of us probably don't play many games anymore, and like someone said most people are older now and don't have the time on their hands.

Having said that, the fact that everyone kind of trailed off at the same time probably had something to do with it - if everyone here started making cars again, I think I'd be tempted to make some

I just got pissed when I lost all my cars, I had alot of WIP ones, and then to loose 'em all. Grr.

I started a new one, but I just couldn't be fucked with the Deltas, TBH.

I actually completed the T3 before my file system crashed, with 3 versions. Cunting bastard thing. I worked for a month on that attempting to get the shading looking right.

Thats what got me, how it could just all "go" like that, in one big file system crash. So much work, gone.
