Just since I thought there may be a few people living under rocks (Manchester, I'm looking in your direction) I suppose I should mention that San Andreas has now been released on PC (and xBox, but you know.. meh).

By all accounts it's rather good, though since my bank account currently stands at -?984 with an overdraft limit of 1000, I think I shall not be purchasing for a week or so until I get paid ;)

If you wish to grab a copy play.com have a limited edition (which claims to be temporarily out of stock, though I wouldn't believe them if I were you) which includes a novella. Not sure if it's any good, but if you've got a copy let me know. (Direct link to SA on play.com)

I haven't bothered posting the screen grabs and such like, since a) there's not that much difference to the ps/2 version except for higher res, and b) every other bugger has been doing it.

Would like some feedback from passers buy though. What sort of SA things would you like to see on this site? Just post a reply to this in the forums (registration is free for those that aren't), and give me some thoughts.

Danke.

How about better spelling, punctuation and grammar? tongue

A guide to getting GTASA running well on PC, a bit like your GTA1 for Windows XP guide.  Some basic informational stuff set out as a list of points, including things like spraying your gang tag instead of getting hidden packages and the abscence of rampages.  A table of which cars can be modified at which shops might be helpful.  How many cars can be saved in each garage in the entire game, with screenshots showing them stuffed inside.  Things like that.

Basically, since G! and GTAzz are pretty inactive these days (bi-monthly news and ancient speculations?) I think they should capitalise on the niche they have.  They have good search engine rankings, so they can write about the obscure things that people want to find out about but can never find.  Other sites will have Flash/Java location maps, screenshots of all the cars, the back stories for all the characters and GTAGarage is the best idea for a modding site since the review system of GTAzz during GTA1/2.

Whether it is in charasmatic commentaries, individual guides to completing specific tasks or having in-depth information about things other sites don't carry but that people want to find out about.  I don't think either could sensibly compete with the sites that have serious corporate backing by either trying to create a complete documentation of everything in the whole game or becoming the new hub of modding.

G! and GTAzz will have to find something unique.

(EDIT) If you are interested in revising the markup and other technical stuff, I could make myself available to help out.  The pages on GTAzz could be made a fair bit smaller and the bucket of images used by G! for the navigation could be changed into stylised text.  The layouts for both could be made more fluid with some tinkering to support different desktop sizes better.

Judging by the new super smooth  layout of project cerbera, I hope my good father decides to turn down your offer of help, cerb.

Aside from that, I for one am looking forward to seeing what will happen with the PC version of the game. See how much being on a PC makes it better!
