I don't understand it. The NSX is a fabulous car, why tear it up to build a half-baked F50? No one over 12 years old will even believe it's real.
And I thought people who tore apart pristine Pontiac Fieros were nuts...

Why not? many people in korea would not have something faster then a stock NSX.

There's a fake F40 round here... If it's real, wow... But I tihnk it's an MR2... I had a really hard time once, trying to convinvce soemone a Ferrari F355 we saw was an MR2... Eesh...

Interestingly... Horespower's about the only thing between an F50 and an NSX, look at this comparison... For the most part, they're pretty much the same...

I also seem to remember in Autocar, there was a bit on this guy who was makign Lamborghini's and the looked just like them and had similar performance, but for 30k GBP!

Somehow I doubt an F50 would weigh the same as an NSX with bits of wood, metal and fibreglass bogged onto the sides.

That NSX-F50 makes "Pimp my Ride" look pretty damn tame.  It's truely without taste.  One of the guys in the development shots is wearing PINK DENIM.

Replica/rebuilt historic cars are obviously fine as long as they are done well, remaining true to the original design.  A Dino with inboard dampers and double-wishbone suspension would be faster but what would be the point?  Making a replica is to re-live a past age; making an old car faster is really just making a new car with old aerodynamics.

(EDIT) I bet that Fiero convertor is proud every time he sees his fuel bill.

If you mean fuel in a car, you dont get a fuel bill... You just pay for it once you put it in. Its not like a direct debit scheme to pay for petrol...

The funny thing is, I'd much rather have that NSX than an F50 any day, I don't care about the performance gap... The NSX is still a fast car on its own...

I'm not keen on either really.  However, I could sell an F50 for a lot more than an NSX and buy things I actually want.  Like an uber-PC.
