| I think the darker one is better, has a richer saturation which gives it a bit more depth, especially around the sides.
The bonnet could do with a little tweaking, the real thing has really crisp sharp edges defining the border between Top and Side (you can see it in the image in your preview). I'm not sure how you'd acheive it, but I think that's what defines the front end of the gallardo and you should at least have a go. I'd also shift the headlights slightly further to the front or darken the front row of pixels, the headlights being very close to the edge on the real thing.
Back detailing is nice, but the sides and middle around the uprights feel very bumpy. Could be a side effect of darkening it perhaps? The real back end is very flat, if you look at this image you can see there's no curve on the side panels and very little on the centre bit. Flatten them out and you'll get rid of the bubbly cartoonesque appearance that it's hinting at at the moment.
Finally, like the headlights the taillight clusters should be pretty much the last thing at the back of the car. I'd either darken the row behind it (hard to do well in yellow since dark yellow has a tendency to brown), or move them back to the rear end. If you do I'd take the centre between the lights back with it, since there should be another crisp, sharp line that defines the end of the car.
Looks good though, shading up to your usual standard and I love the windscreen flare. The light effects on the photo you've used in your preview are amazing, any thoughts of having a go at recreating that? I keep thinking we as a community of car makers really need to try and go forward, since cars haven't changed quintessentially since GTA London was released, and that was what, 6/7 years ago? There must be a new style out there waiting for someone to discover it.. ------------------ azz.gouranga.com est. 1998 (I am oldskoolier than joo) |
