| I've been working on a few things for my GTA2 London map (sent to me by Sektor - thanks!), but I'm finding it interesting on how to get the doors to be on the correct side (right side entry). I have a few ideas, but yet to test them. These are:
Not much to go on I know, but if anyone has some suggestions, I'd love to hear them. If anything happens from above, I'll post. ------------------ ![]() Quote: "Side effects may include: dry mouth, nausea, vomiting, water retention, painful rectal itch, hallucination, dementia, psychosis, coma, death, and halitosis. | I think it's the London map converted to GTA2 format using Delfi's converter tool, right? On the doors, can't you use Delfi's sty editor to change the position of entry. I remember doing that but can't remember if it still made the ped enter from the left... ------------------ GOKHAN |

| I expect the game would figure it out automatically. You would probably using the player animations of getting in though what is normally the passenger door. The door itself would probably animate as expected, just like the normal passenger door on that side would open. ------------------

| Yes, this is GTA London converted to GTA2 by using Delfi's tools. With the car editor (in his STY editor), I found this: ![]() This taxi is just an example, but it clearly shows 4 doors, with the "X: -16, Y: 6" being the right hand door, but is the second in the list. So maybe if I put this to the top of the list (so moving the LEFT door to the second row) something might happen? Cerb, as you should know, if the driver entry side is blocked, you will get in/out the other side. If you are in a limo and can't get out the front, you can get out the back doors instead. Any more than that and you mysteriously exit the car on the roof As a little note, I've started to change the various graphics for GTA2 London, and replacing such things as the score sign ("$") with a pound sign, and also applied this to the font as well. Later on I'll try my hand at replacing the weapon pickup icons (pistol, machine gun, flamer and rocket launcher) and things like multiplier andarmour too. But, with these I'm not sure of the image can be stretched as in GTA2 the pickups (like armour, health etc) have about 5 or 6 images of it rotating, with the pictures of them upright being really thin images! I'll see what can be done. Also, since no health appears in the early GTA's, I might hide them and make armour give you 3 ------------------ ![]() Quote: "Side effects may include: dry mouth, nausea, vomiting, water retention, painful rectal itch, hallucination, dementia, psychosis, coma, death, and halitosis. | You know, I really love you guys, seriously. I've not taken the time to look over this end of the forum for ages, and when I do, I find an hive of furious GTA2 activity. The kind of stuff I've always wished for, but never really believed would happen. Delfi, Cerbera and Pyro, you guys rule. GTA1/ London conversions? Bejesus, when my new PC comes, I'll be giving you guys all the feedback you want. For now, keep it up! I'll have my eye on you. Whoops. Sektor too. Sorry buddy, nearly forgot. ------------------ Maindrian and Touge's videos of vague annoyance - Est. 2007 |

| Thanks for that Maindrian I've asked GtAkReYz (via PM) if I could use these cars:
But, his last visit was on 5/8/05 (at least logged visit Now, if Delfi reads this: How can I change the police uniforms so they appear darker/dark grey? I'm not sure how you did it with the Elvis guys in Tanks In Miami changing them to orange! And if you know, please tell so that I can change the cops, and also the Elvis guys to look similar to the joggers in GTA London! ------------------ ![]() Quote: "Side effects may include: dry mouth, nausea, vomiting, water retention, painful rectal itch, hallucination, dementia, psychosis, coma, death, and halitosis. | I feel guilty, I was one of the people that campaigned (maybe the only one) for delfi to make a good gta2 style manager thing so I could use proper pallettes and then I have never actaully used it cos my carmaking died :( I am sorry. It is brilliant what everyone has done :) By the way, have you found a way to do the bikes and scooters and open top cars? Apparently Tecknics claimed to have been able to do this with Paladin on some thing I forget the name of, but it never eventually got released :-/ Perhaps it would somehow be codeable, I don't know? :S Thing is, those vehicles are a large part of gta london :-/ Oh yer, also, will you be porting the music across? hahah :) ------------------ Knott Anymore |

| Oh yes, if you would like to use any of my cars you can. The shading on the normal versions of the 206 is buggered cos of hacks, however I can fix that if you want to use it - I will just get rid of the stripes and stuff - they looked pretty crap anyway, and ruined the shading. Rally versions should be fine though if you randomly want to hide them in the map somewhere :S You can knock up your own light deltas if you want, or I can have a go whatever is best - it's in gta format but easily converted. Also there is the isetta, haha but then that may not fit the gta london scene :D Maybe if it was die Bundesrepublik ;) ------------------ Knott Anymore |

| Maindrian and Daniel - if you would care to show your cars, I'd be happy to add them I haven't thought about bikes/scooters yet and not really sure on how to do them. Possible have something to do with deltas I presume. I'll look into it when I get a spare 45 mins If I ported the music, then the only way you could listen to it is if you had the free version of GTA2, as the music files are stored on your hard drive then. I've copied alot of the voices across, such as the intro bit of "Grand Theft Auto!", and replaced other things like Kill Frenzy, Mission Passed/Failed etc. These voices are already stored in the folder, and all you need to do is replace them I'll see what happens if I replace the Elvis voices with the little chant those blue joggers do. But, the Elvis guys only say things every few seconds, so it won't be continous! It'll be better anyway A few images... ![]() Welcome back to London! ![]() Don't you hate it when people don't pay? ![]() Speeding bus! A little bit of work done there, coming along nicely ![]() And then... ![]() The character opens the right door, gets in but he gets in moving upwards shown in the pic above I changed the deltas for the car to the right hand side on the taxi, and also changed the coordinates of entry, so the first door on the list is the one for the front right hand side, then the front left, then back right and finally back left, but still its being odd! I'll keep on testing it and see if I can do anything! Things to do...

| Azz the barbarian. grrr
| As a vague suggestion, how about using the GTA2 cars that Ray Larabie did? They're the GTA2 style cars, but penned in the GTA London (ie Larabie) style. Just a thought. Don't think there were any deltas though.. Looks good though, just promise me you'll change the handling of the cars. That was for me the most frustrating, and ultimately lifespan shortening, thing about GTA2. ------------------ azz.gouranga.com est. 1998 (I am oldskoolier than joo) |

| Unfortunatley, you're right Azz, there were no deltas. The rumbler in that pack looked awesome. I had that sheet sitting in my e-mail folder for about a year before I left it inactive too long. Shame, as I was going to make deltas for a couple of 'em. Shit, I've just realised, I've lost my special Kreyz naming compo car too! Bugger. Pyro, here and here. the Mini looks even more dreadful than I remembered. I've not seen a better Escort though, even if it is a bit on the flat side. ------------------ Maindrian and Touge's videos of vague annoyance - Est. 2007 |

| Well I now use the free version of gta2 anyway, since apparently the other one was dodgy for multiplayer or sometihng :D So ner music :P. Hmm yer, to do proper bikes you would need some coding. See if you can email teknics or sometihng and find out how he did it - his email is probly in his profile - either that or try pming. Cos you see if it iwas just deltas, then biokes wouldn't fall over and you couldn't crash and fall off :-/ Here is me Isetta and here's me 206 for any more stuff, look at me crappy site, www.gta-v.tk If you want me to find the un compressed pallette version of the 206 so it doesn't have hacks fucking it up then just say, I tihnk it is on the old hard disk somewhere. ------------------ Knott Anymore |

| Azz: I had a look at Larabies GTA2 cars from your site the other day, and looked rather tasty, but as you said, they have no deltas. If anyone is willing to try and make some deltas for these cars, I'll gladly put them in! Azz, what sort of handling types are you after? If you put down a few cars you would like to see changed (such as top speed, handling etc), I'll have a go at changing them. Of course, we'll see what everyone else will say, especially to a high speed bus that can easily take corners Maindrian: If we can't get the deltas for the Larabie GTA2 cars, then I'll be adding these for sure. The only problem (as you've said) is the Escort does look a little 'flat'. Perhaps you might like to try making another? Daniel: Had a look at the cars, the 206 looks really nice! If you would be willing to change these into GTA2, I'll add it no problem! I like the hard top version (the 206 CC I think) in white, that looks really nice. So yeah, if you could convert the white one over, it'll be included You're right, this 'Bubble Car' doesn't really fit into the London feel, so it won't be included Thresh: This will be multiplayer enabled yes! At least 4 player, maybe even 6 player. But the multiplayer will simply be a deathmatch for now... Gokhan: You sent me the day/night code yes In other parts of GTA2 London...
There are probably a whole load more things to do, just have to see what needs to be done! Hopefully make some real progress tonight on alot of these things. I'll post some pictures tomorrow Edit: If you remember when you answered a phone, it would (obviously) show the phone on the left of the screen by the brief. I was wondering, I've changed a face from GTA2 to a phone from GTA1 (but not London) because it looks newer. The idea is for GTA2 London to be set many years after the original! So the old stuff will not be added, although the wanted head is still the classic one from GTA London ------------------ ![]() Quote: "Side effects may include: dry mouth, nausea, vomiting, water retention, painful rectal itch, hallucination, dementia, psychosis, coma, death, and halitosis.
