Deleted Member	If you somehow don't know what I'm talking about, I'll explain: the good folks over at www.gta3am.tk are using the source code of the GTA3 Console to make a GTA3 Multiplayer mod (this is only for the PC, of course). It is in a very early alpha stage so far, and I myself can't quite get it to work, but I've heard that several people have. Right now, its only 2 player, and you can only see each other when you're both in cars. Also, you see the other player's car as the car you yourself were previously in. This was done only because it was easiest, and they really wanted to prove the mod would work. In the future it will work off of the pedestrian code, so you'll be able to see the proper cars as well as the other person when he's on foot. Yes, it does work both on the Internet and on a LAN (it uses good ol' TCP/IP). On that note, I'll be in the G! chatroom trying to convince people that this is for real and to try a game with me.

I didn't expect a GTA3 multiplayer mod to be made but what surprised me more is that it's written in Visual Basic 6 :)

Fan added multiplayer to a closed source commercial game. It's an interesting hack, I think it works like this, it reads the player car location from memory, sends the location over tcp/ip and writes it into memory on the other pc. It's still 2 single player games but it's hacked so they can interact. At the moment you can only race in cars and damage isn't supported. When you are on foot, you can't be seen.

It uses port 2003.

I can't test it until I upgrade my pc.

Deleted Member	It's still an extremely good start, and it's better than no multiplayer at all. I'm gonna play it over a network later tonight. I do hope it works well. :)

Something like: "error gta3 dvd missing". Since when is it a dvd???? I don't think so. ------------------ HAHA!!!!! I'll drive you crazy, and I'll KILL you all!!!
