San Andreas ZModeller 1.07 Plugin... does it exist? or must I use Zmod 2, which I don't understand at all?

As far as I know, Oleg doesn't have any plans for a Zmod1 San Andreas filter, and I doubt anyone else does at the moment. I'm still holding out for a very nice person to make one, but I bet we'll have a long wait. If you are going to register Zmod 2, I'd do it quickly - the first time I checked, sometime back in July, I think registration cost $25. Now It's up to $37 (U.S), and Oleg reckons this price will rise over time.

The only other option I'm aware of is Gmax, but that's not really much help - I read on GTAforums that it can import and modify SA cars, but can't export them. I'm not too sure about 3dsMax though, but It's definately cheaper just to go for Zmod 2.

Actually this Kam guy made a script that Imports/Exports cars and buildings 'n' shit, and works with 3DStudios and possibley GMax...

My bad, sirs, no disinformation intended!

What's the most favoured modeller around these parts, Zmod? I messed about with it for the first time last night with the help of Rebel_36's getting started tutorial, 'tis alot simpler than I expected! I personally found Zmod quite a bit easier than Gmax, although I only got as far as placing some blueprints and drawing a few lines with that one.

So what's your favourite one, people? Any multi-modellers out here?

EDIT - Assuming Zmod 2 is as much of a bitch to use as the hearsay would have me believe and if Kam's scripts work fine with Max, would it be possible to model something in Zmod 1.7, open/import it in Max, then export it to SA format?

I think it could be possible, if you manage to export your model in Zmod in a file format that Max can open. The Zmod 3ds exporter tends to mess up material names and normal, though, I wouldn't recommend using it.

It's a bit shitty that you'll have to shell out ?25 just for a DFF filter. Still, Oleg's a good chappie, he deserves the cash....
