| Also, any help on car substitution that I'm overlooking would be good. Say I wanted to take a new car meant for the Banshee, but decided to instead replace the Cheetah or something. As far as I can tell, all you do is make the tags in the handling and carcols files say Cheetah instead of Banshee. Right?
Ok, so I found this article on Wikipedia: www.gtamodding.com/index.php?title=Handling.cfg That's about handling.cfg, and I guess it basically tells the game what characteristics the vehicle has. I'm new to most of this intensive modification stuff, I used to have a ghost bridge thing, but I mostly just copy in cars. Is this how it works? Carcols.dat tells the game what colour the paintjob is, it probably substitutes because that Diablo firejobbie must be some kind of special thing. Maybe not, idk. Default.ide has all the monetary value, positioning of the exhaust and what kind of vehicle it is. Vans and things. Handling.cfg has all the other stuff. Transmission, where the player sits, weight, all the stuff relevant to the physics engine and to sound. Is that right at all?
Maybe this engine sound thing has to do with TransmissionData.nNumberOfGears or one of the other TransmissionData flags. |
