Actually there was no need to change anything in the code, it already works, technical restrictions of delta dimensions are 32 bits in all 3 directions, which is 4.294.967.295 * 4.294.967.295 pixels of 32 bit color depth, but technically you cannot use it up to the maximum, since graphics card will stop at 2048*2048 or newer at 4069*4069. and each car uses its own texture stored on gfx card :)
 
Lets stay on solid grounds, normally you would want to use 64*64 for cars, 64*128 for trucks..
in tdc you can use double resolution of that or even bigger (using proper nice GFX card scaling so it looks smooth), as i said - the limit is the graphics hardware.. you use too big texture = car will be all white.

I actually realised i just hijacked this thread, but since it is titled "2D exists" and it is about state of 2D car art. and i didnt get kicked out so far ;)
 
EDIT: you may have noticed on the screenshoot - each car has its own car explosion wreck :O

That's a very nice addition  yes  No damage to the sides? One effect I think should be cool is if you jump with your car and lands your windshield cracks or if every part of the car is trashed the next crash would make the windshield crack.

It seems like Delfi's got some new air under his wings now. I like the rainbow colored background  tongue

rainbow colors are there because i just tell it to use some random data. later i will use some pavement texture.
 
i was thinking, i dont see much use in car side damage, and the doors overlap so i find it no use.
 
there will be no windscreen cracking either, however 3 of deltas are reserved as "extras" - so you can add stripes / numbers / anything to the roof, air intake on the hood.. or spoilers.. use your imagination.

Where's this 32 bit alpha transparency then? or does that car just not make use of it?  tongue Any, seems really good, you could have some really good mods if you get it up to gta bikes + convertable standard and gta 2 jumps and stunts standard :) And then maybe extra cool things that you think up yourself :)

it is just that the car on screenshoot doesnt make use of full alpha transluscency but only full or no transparency.
 
now who is up for a challenge of creating the first doublesized car with full deltas? :)

i cannot wait for this game delfi, I have been hanging around in the shadows and taken note of it, I think it might bring back the GTA community somewhat.
