How about reverting to the old smiley patterns, or allowing both the current codes and the old ones? For example, people use :) all the time (even you!) but iceyboard doesn't turn it into the appropriate smilie. Ack, not this again! I thought we had already debated this to death.
I use :) because I want it to be displayed as :) I'm not a fan of smilie icons for things that can be displayed easily and recognisably as text.
Although now I think about it, the "Disable smilies" checkbox is fairly useless, because no one would write  unless they wanted it to be turned into a smilie.

Typing  is a lot harder and less intuitive. I think one of our reasons for going to that system is that a lot of other places do that, so it would be natural and known to people already. It's easy to type anyway and you can just click on the smilie icons.

How about creating paragraphs and line breaks in the same way most blog comment systems do What benefits will it provide to people using the board?

Allow simpler writing of lists! That's a good idea. So done! You can now use just [list].

How about adding a [c] BBcode which produces <code> markup? Also done. It's the "code inline" option from the basic tags.

(EDIT) You could probably remove the Edit reason box. I think nobody uses it and this would save some scrolling to reach the message buttons. Maybe some people find it useful. I'm not around much so I can't really see how much it's used in reality. Anyone find it useful?

Oh, here's a picture of your position: fixed; sidebar working correctly in IE7: Yay! I've updated the message on the edit profile page.
p.s. You can get rid of the "provided by" stuff from the IE titlebar by going here: HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main and then deleteing the Window Title string. It'll go back to the default then. ------------------
