Is anyone else finding that when you pull up at the pump people want to stop and have a chat about your car? Obviously I never got this in the 1.3 econobox Suzuki, but with the century:

Kids:
Kids love my car, it?s kind of an annoyance, whenever I pull up and they are in the back seat there eyes are GLUED to it and what I do, they always point at the ?funny? mirrors and I near break their necks when I roll past their parked car doing that 8 electronic window thing.

Bikers:
No sports bikers yet but guys on Harleys and classic bikes always want to stop and have a chat, and I don?t mind they always have an interesting story to tell, why just one came up this morning a kiwi on a old Harley who used to own a Toyota Crown back in NZ, if only I knew the first thing about bikes!

Mobs of Idiots:
Idiots (they always seem to be in a group) ALSO love my car, I do my best to ovoid starting a in-depth conversation it?s always something like ?fully wicked sick car mate, it?s like a nipbox, but a nice one? while a skank gives me a wave from the back of their valiant.

Thumbs up guy:
Lots of these, I will almost always get at least one thumb up from a passer buy.

Girls in girl cars:
Hatchbacks with fuzzy dice, playboy seat covers, and usually a big scratch down one side always want to have a chat, and of course I will chat, even if they don?t know ANYTHING.

    		people talk to me about my car CONSTANTLY. at first, it was really cool. then it got REALLY OLD.

    they all say the SAME THING. this is how exactly every conversation i have with someone new about my car goes.

    idiot - "is that the new GTO?"
    me - "yeah, it's an '06"
    "did you get the v-6, or the v-8?"
    "it only comes with a v-8"
    "it's the ls6, right?"
    "no, it's the ls2"
    "they're basically the same thing, though, right?"
    "no, it's the newer generation of the 6.0l block. it's cast and forged from aluminum, it's got a different oil pan, a relocated crank position sensor, a closer MAF, new lifter profile, and lots more power - among other things. it's a totally different engine"
    "yeah, whatever. it's the same thing, bud, i read about it on the Internet. it's got 350 horsepower, right?"
    "no, that was the '04 with the 5.7l ls1. this is the 6.0l ls2 with 400hp, NOT the ls6."
    "is is fast?"
    "NO YOU STUPID, BLITHERING IDIOT. I PAID OUT THE ASS FOR THIS THING, JUST SPENT TEN MINUTES TELLING YOU ABOUT HOW MY ENGINE IS MORE POWERFUL THAN YOU THINK IT IS, IT IS RED, HAS A SIX-SPEED, 18" WHEELS AND IT REQUIRES PREMIUM FUEL.     actually, it's never happened like that. but up until the point where they ask if it's fast is 100% true, every time. they go through the same sequence until they get to that question, then i usually tell them 0-60mph or whatever. about 50% mention they would have bought it, and about 25% don't look anywhere close to getting one. oh, well, such is life with a sports car, i assume.

    it does get old, though.

    		Not much to talk about when you own a French rotbox.

    Probably buying a Skoda Octavia VRS soon though, as a need a quick reliable doggy carrier. Should be fun and more interesting too.

      		my car is fucked, it struggles to get up hills...  as a matter of fact, it goes up hills without a problem in reverse...  it cost me $200, and it's fucking ace...  who needs a service when i can run the fucker into the ground?

      i know i've brought it up before disco, but how much money did you actually put towards that car?

      GTA is hardly a game specifically for car lovers. I think you'd find that most of the GTA audience probably doesn't give much of a toss, it's just some weird property of the Gouranga forums that so many are obsessed/in love with motors.

      Reading your 'average conversation' with people about your car made me cringe mate. absolutely cringe. You came off as a bit of a prick, looking down upon people who don't know as much about cars. Fuckit, there are far more important things to learn about than cars, people are just trying to small talk or be friendly and you act like a stuck up cunt because they don't know every minute irrelevant detail about your car.

      Personally, I fill my head with things that are important, rather than what the latest model of the Ford CouldntGiveAFuck 250 GTO is. Maybe you should do the same, rather than acting like an arrogant twat on an ego trip.
