Any of you got this game yet? I've heard mixed opinions onit - some saying it's brilliant, and a good change, others bemoaning that you now have to brake for corners instead of taking them at 5,000,000 mph. I find the worst thing I've heard sofar is people complaining about no open city to explore - some sites even saying that it was the main part of the series. Am I the ONLY person who remembers NFS before underground? Who even misses NFS before underground... I look forward to getting this and seeing what EA have done to the series now. I hope it's good.

I also look forward to getting in some more Muscle Cars, despite thier inability to turn.

Stutters on my PC even at 800x600 all settings off. Might be Vista 64 and nVidia drivers.

Runs quite well at 1680x1050 on my 8800GTS 640 anyway.

I'm using a wired 360 Pad which feels much nicer than keyboard. The game, although not too far into it, plays ok. Certainly playable. Not realistic by any stretch but its another playable game to while away some time.

I've just complete Crysis (WTF, MEH) and this is just as playable really.

Graphics are good and that, but it's a bit boring really.

I preferred racing through cities, rather than actual racing courses.

It's not the fact there's no city to explore, but in NFS the circuits were all based on "real" roads and such. In this it's all gran-turismo-esque, with shitty courses.

As such, the courses are dull as fuck.

I just played the Demo. It's fun tbh, I couldn't care less that its now on "courses" instead of "roads". Only thing that has changed is the scenery at the side really. That and you don't get a city to drive round, and no more traffic camping exactally on the racing line for you to hit.

Seems good. At last, damage is back too! And 2na, I hated underground greatly. And 2. Because "To go furthur you must build a 10 star car!" "But then it looks gay!" "TOUGH!". Tha and 200mph corners annoyed me. Underground was fun, don't get me wrong. But it was TOO stupid for its own good.

I just love the sounds of the game. The cars don't all sound the same and the handling, although not brilliant, has a realistic feel with the cars being sent off course in the right situation.

It'll never be Need For Speed: High Stakes (NFS4), I loved that version.

That's my favourite too. Also, it's got about 9,000,000 addon cars availible. Shame it hates XP so much, and that I can't run it with good graphics. The game just isn't futuer compatible. :(

Enjoy a screenie I took of the demo. I won this race! (Although, it was on my roof).

my favorite was the NFS: Porsche edition. the scenery was grand, and the cities were *just* big enough to make it *seem* like you were *exploring* it.

i don't mind that it's on a race track, now. maybe the Underground fanboys will learn something and not try to kill everything ever on the road next time.

Porsche was undoubtedly the best in every way.

I played the demo of this one... it didn't work too well on my computer.

I love all Need for Speeds that predate Underground, even the Track based NFS:2 was great.

Disc, also a big fan of Porsche, I wish EA would do that again but with more car companies, buying old banngers and doing them up, tuning options for high end cars, and best of all having to pay for damages after every race, made you drive with a concern for crashing.

I wish they can bring the pursuit series back.

I find the game to have a better experience if you play it on hard or Delta otherwise
there is no excitement or interaction with your nano suit.

You can lower your resolution to medium if you want decent frame rates.

i just installed the full version of this. i have to admit, it's fun, but i suck SO HARD AT IT. all of my floormates are making fun of me because i can't do it. i'm a fairly decent racer IRL, so i'm frustrated at the controls. it's either full-on or full-off for everything, and there's a lag between buttons and actions that wasn't present in the demo. oh, well, it's still really playable.

i really hate all the shitty music and i really hate the stupid announcer and i really hate that asshole that burned out in his Evo in my face and i REALLY REALLY hate the shaky-cam race intros.

other than that, it's pretty good.

my car is all wrong, though, they have one wheel spinning through turns even though it's got a limited slip diff. i was really surprised (and quite happy!) that they put the Texas World Speedway in there. that's my absolute favorite track i've ever raced on, it's such a blast! and, aside from all the billboards and ads on the side, a wall here or there, and all the stupid game shit, it's pretty spot-on to what the track is. awesome!

I quite like it sofar. Yes, Disco, I noticed that even with an LSD you get stupid wheel spinnyness.

Sofar, Drag is awesome and fun (Chevelle ftw) and track, I made it difficult for myself because I decided to use the '67 GTO. Woo! It is good, but unless you get it SPOT ON the car punishes you. Fuck those crap starting cars.

I leave it on "King" mode because the stupid make-me-brake shit annoys me otherwise. And fucks up my laps. Hence, I have already totalled a car. Oops. Sofar, this game is good. Far more challenging, or rather, difficult than the last ungeround yo NFS games.

        Played the demo, it's alright.
The physics on the game sucks big time!

The shouldn't have done this to it

Sorry for the slight off topic, but here is another racing game. :D
