So I'm making a tower defence game for work and I could do with a freeware texture set to save me having to draw any. Some simple top down grass/mud type textures would be great.

I know a few of you have made your own games, did you both doing your own textures or do you have a decent source?

Cheers.

I think the Microsoft XNA community has a few texture/sprite packs that are free to use...

Cool, will have a look ta.

I found some sprites from a game called Hard Vaccuum, apparently an rts a decade or so ago. Artist has released them to the public domain. They don't look bad, albeit rather retro.
