    		A coupla weeks ago i finally got my hands on a car worth having.. I started out in a '92 1.2 Renault Clio which was seriously shit and ended up selling for £180, 6 months after buying it for £600 and spending another £400 on repairs.. For a while after that failure i moved on to my mums Rover 216 1.4i but ragged it about too much (which she didnt like). Then whilst browsing Autotrader i found my (near) perfect car- 1989 1.6 VW Golf MkII CL. Its not quite perfect cos i wouldve preferred it in a shade of dark blue, but shit happens. Anyway, here it is:

    I love smoking boy racers in their novas and other inferior cars..
    I'd advise anyone considering buying a new car to get one. Even though their kinda big n bulky, they arent half nippy.. and thei not too expensive- i got mine for £875 with only 79k on the clock. It is a 1.6, threfore insurance would be extremely high for new drivers, but this advice i give everyone:
     DO PASS PLUS!! then get insured with norwich union, cos they gave me a beefy 50% discount on it.

    		Do you also happen to live in a country that avoids signing environmental treaties to save a few pence on a gallon of fuel, the one that is determined to cut up Alaska as well, or it's slightly less evil next door neighbour (and I don't mean Mexico).

    		Nice. If you ever have to go for something under 2 litre (God forbid) go for a golf. Very expensive in Aus though, and 1.6 would never be enough for me.

    		No not jealousy, just making a point that in North America the whole attitude to cars seems to be "fuck everything, we're the best because we have stupidly large engines".

    If I got ever got 'stang I'd rip out the engine, replace it with that of a Suzuki Swift and use the extra space (and their be a lot of it, you can fit those 1000cc's in your pocket!) to smuggle in immigrants ;)

      		I originaly wanted a Ford Capri cos a mate has a 2 litre capri, and its a beaut.. but i couldnt fid one locally so i gave up.
      but then another mate got a 89 MkII Golf which is tasty, so i decided to get one too. we're now in competition to outdo eachother, without turning into boy racers..
      Im hoping to get GTI trim, K&N induction kit, smoked side indicators, smoked rear lights, and a nice amp with some components, andpossibly a sub. Im currently running some Infinity 6x9's straight off a JVC head unit with a 12 cd changer, and itsjust not loud enough... heh heh

        i went to look at it, and although it was a nice car, it woudlve cost a lot to get it towed and fixed (cos it didnt work) and wouldve been a lot of hassle. plus, it had 136k on the clock, so i decided against it.

        I know its a Toyota but the model name has escaped me and I agree it is a frikkin awesome car.
