When I first got my new computer, Java was preinstalled.  Then, somehow, I got that crappy Sun Java or whatever.

I don't want that!  You have to wait for the stuff to load and it's horrible.  How can I get the default "Microsoft Java" or whatever?

Edit:  Actually, I think I got it.  But I still found a folder that had to do with Sun so I deleted it and then I went to a site that had Java and it made me install something.  Well I tried installing it and the Microsoft page that it directs you to doesn't work.  So I put that folder back.  Can't you download Java and IE at the same time or something?

Edit #2:  Wait, is Sun Java the only Java there is?  I think that Sun is the only Java and Microsoft had a contract with them or something, but that was discontinued.  Well, as long as when I go to a page I don't have to see the cup.

Yeah those Sun people obviously know nothing about Java at all!

Hmm, i kinda know what you're on about, i used to have to wait for this bloody console to load before any java would appear and i'd get the coffee cup in my task bar.

Try right clicking on ie, go to Properties > Advanced, scroll down to Java Vm and unclick Java Console Enabled.

Might work, i dunno, just try it.

EDIT: Ah, i see, well, if anyone else is having the same troubles...yeah...

Well I removed a folder from 'C:Program Filesfolder_name'.  Also, I removed Java Web Start.  Well I don't get the coffee cup anymore.  I don't see the coffee cup when waiting for java to load.  If you completely uninstall all Java and get new, go to:
home.insightbb.com/~ctom42/msjavx86.exe

Edit:  Actually, I just deleted 'C:Program Filesj2re1.4.1_01' from my computer and sites that required Java stopped working.  I was asked to download Microsoft virtual machine but the Microsoft site that I went to didn't work.  So I put 'j2re1.4.1_01' back and it works fine, without the coffee cop, etc.

So obviously, that previous site didn't work for me.  I don't know ... you can try it.
