I hated Donnie Darko... a semi-decent ending does not make up for the 2 hours I spent watching B-grade crap.

I have to agree with Patto, I thought it was awful. Definately one of the worst films I've seen in a long time.

You will NOT get this movie if you don't use your most important muscle (which resides in your head).

Erm, I did. That doesn't make it a good film.

          Hey

Well, I watched it tonight after further prompting from you lot and I must say that it indeed was a good film - great production and the ending was pretty cool.

Definatly one to watch - but not the best (Run Lola Run! yay!)

          jues.

Run Lola Run was great... but have you seen the directors new movie?  it's one continuous, 90minute shot in a museum, about the history of russia or something..  Sure it's a great feat [i mean come on, a perfect continous 90min shot], but it would be soo boring..

On the subject of great films, has anyone seen City Of God?

It is not that I found the ending hard to comprehend, in fact the ending was quite good, but untill that point the movie was boring as, a bit like the Sixth Sense.

I thought it was one of the most extraordinary directorial debuts i've ever seen; the flaws; the slightly odd sfx and that crappy dickface from ER reading his lines in a monotone were completely offset by the AMAZING bathroom scenes; I thought if it was all real or Donnie really was a schizo dreaming it all, either way it was excrutiatingly intense.
And who les fuck was Frank, really. There's no way he was that dick who cried all the time and ran over Donnies girl; I reckon he was from the deep future, like thousands of years; i mean, " My name is Frank, like my fathers before me..." hints? I need to get the voiceover DVD rightaboutnow.
