| @GTa-C : Yea, you'd sorta need to own GTAIII so htat you could test out the vehicles in their natural habitat. Viewing them in ZMod doesn't really give a full impression of how the car looks and works, not to mention most people lock their files so you can't import them anyway.
@ -Richard- (et al) : Basically, all the job requires is installing the new cars, thoroughly testing them in the game for bugs, appearance, and whatnot, and finally writing a review for it. During the testing process itself, I usually drive the car around day and night in game while looking at it from all camera angles, then repeating that at various stages of damaged-ness, and also stopping to look at the car up close with the M-16 or something.
For the review part, you write what your impressions of the car were (obviously), and give it a score/critique based on how good or bad all the aspects of the car, and how much the good compares against the bad. While you don't necessarily need to know how to model a car, it does help to understand the process a bit; So as to pick up on things such as how well the lighting normals work, or judging good use of textures/UVA mapping and such.
I suppose we'll just come up with a couple of test cars, and post them here for everybody to try their hand at reviewing them. |
