heya. cheers for all the great feedback folks, lots to think on.
Actually enjoying making this, which is a rarity for 3d modelling for me, usually find it really frustrating.
Anyway I've done a few bits and bobs but not enough to warrant a new preview yet.
The rear end I like so I'm keeping it big and chunky. The rear light clusters have changes slightly, just hoping when I skin them I can get what I want.
I've sorted the front lights. I tried all sorts of shapes (including a rather nice figure of 8 that turned out toss), but decided to keep it simple. Basically the two faces that look like they should be pop ups (yeah, tried that too) are the top pane, then the two in front at the fronts, then inside are two bulbs in each side. Should look ok I think.
The rear teardrop is staying pretty much intact. What is currently (in that pic) the flat "bed" of the drop is going to be a vented engine cover. Anyone know if it's possible to have the boot dummy not revolve after an accident? if not I'll use a rear wing to get rid of that to reveal the engine I've yet to model.
I'm doing a few extra options, one includes a rear window for the teardrop, another is the hard top I've just finished modelling.
Couple of things. Firstly if anyone has any suggestions for the rims I'm open to suggestions. Preferably something easy to model of course lol. There are some really nice white five spokes I've seen, but not sure.
Same goes for sports seats. Not something I've ever looked at so suggestions are appreciated.
Got a few ideas to make the interior follow the shape and flow of the outside, we'll see how that goes. The flags in "handling.CFG" allow the direction of rotation and the edge from which the boot hinges to be set. My FlagStudio application makes it easy to put together which flag options your vehicle should have, although you have to copy-paste the actual flag bytes manually into the handling.CFG file.
I would recommend these flags: 1G_BOOST 2G_BOOST REV_BONNET (for front-tilting bonnet) IS_LOW (reclined seating position) DBL_EXHAUST NOSWING_BOOT (should prevent the boot from rotating)
You could use the FAT_REAR flag as well to save yourself having to model wider versions of the wheels for the tail. ------------------
