No.

Azzy the hardtop version looks like a Koenigsegg CC.

Very interesting light cluster, I was expecting little skinny vertical ones on the quarterpanels at the front where the hump is.

Mini koenigsegegsid? I can live with that smile

I thought about a mini strip of lights (think I tried everything lol), but my worry is it's look too much like a squared TVR at the front.  I'm quite happy with the cluster though.

Now I've got to redo the new rims I did last night, because I'm not all that happy with them. bah. They looked GOOD in Max, just when I bung em into Zmod and see them with the car.. bah.

This is all assuming I can actually get the car into VC of course. I gave up on my last one (a random buggy) cos I couldn't get it working. balls.

heya. cheers for all the great feedback folks, lots to think on.

Actually enjoying making this, which is a rarity for 3d modelling for me, usually find it really frustrating.

Anyway I've done a few bits and bobs but not enough to warrant a new preview yet.

The rear end I like so I'm keeping it big and chunky. The rear light clusters have changes slightly, just hoping when I skin them I can get what I want.

I've sorted the front lights. I tried all sorts of shapes (including a rather nice figure of 8 that turned out toss), but decided to keep it simple. Basically the two faces that look like they should be pop ups (yeah, tried that too) are the top pane, then the two in front at the fronts, then inside are two bulbs in each side. Should look ok I think.

The rear teardrop is staying pretty much intact. What is currently (in that pic) the flat "bed" of the drop is going to be a vented engine cover. Anyone know if it's possible to have the boot dummy not revolve after an accident? if not I'll use a rear wing to get rid of that to reveal the engine I've yet to model.

I'm doing a few extra options, one includes a rear window for the teardrop, another is the hard top I've just finished modelling.

Couple of things. Firstly if anyone has any suggestions for the rims I'm open to suggestions. Preferably something easy to model of course lol. There are some really nice white five spokes I've seen, but not sure.

Same goes for sports seats. Not something I've ever looked at so suggestions are appreciated.

Got a few ideas to make the interior follow the shape and flow of the outside, we'll see how that goes.
The flags in "handling.CFG" allow the direction of rotation and the edge from which the boot hinges to be set.   My FlagStudio application makes it easy to put together which flag options your vehicle should have, although you have to copy-paste the actual flag bytes manually into the handling.CFG file.

I would recommend these flags:
1G_BOOST
2G_BOOST
REV_BONNET (for front-tilting bonnet)
IS_LOW (reclined seating position)
DBL_EXHAUST
NOSWING_BOOT (should prevent the boot from rotating)

You could use the FAT_REAR flag as well to save yourself having to model wider versions of the wheels for the tail.

Ta Cerb, I'll have a looksee when I get a bit nearer release and see if I can't get it doing the things it should.

I've got it in game now, which is good. Having huge problems getting the thing bloody textured though. Not sure why. I tried using TXD Gold to edit my txd file, but it didn't seem to work. So I copied the existing cheetah txd and that works, but you can't edit it with txd gold, so I'm stuck with that other one, er vicetxd or something. That's not much cop because you can't add textures or rename files.

Suggestions?

Delfi is always a good place to look when you want a strong editor.  He has a TXD editor thingy and I think I remember a lot of folks at GTAF singing its praises.

If you have it in-game then setting the flags up is something you could do anywhen.  My FlagStudio can calculate the flag values you need.  It is basically a glorified checklist with descriptions of what each flag thing actually does, so you just go through ticking the ons you want then copy the Flag Data the program comes up with.

It's really quite useful, runs rather stable and doesn't mess up the txd's like TXDgold occasionally does.

TXDGold was Delfi's, but it dates back from the days before VC. Delfi then decided to discontinue TXDGold (which was rather bug-ridden) and make a complete new Texture editor, called TXD Workshop, with far less bugs and VC texture support and more useful stuff.

Thats delfis new site. The tool is there because I put it on the front end for him.

Also, Delfi wouldn't be making our tools anymore if it wasn't for the kind actions of myself. I posted him my old Geforce FX5600 for free. Not to be up my own arse about it, but at one point he wanted to quit as his machine wasn't upto it. But we still got him! I couldn't let him go that easily. Lazy programmer  annoyed  :P

I offered to send him money but we could not figure out a method to do it.  Anyway, I am linking to all his tools on my website to make him feel a bit more appreciated. :y

gah, getting really pissed off with this thing now. Used txd workshop to change the name of one of my textures, put it back into the img and the car stops appearing, full stop. So I put the backup txd into the img, still no car. Huh?

See this is why I can never be arsed releasing anything. I enjoy the modelling, but the rest of it is just a pain in the arse..

How like me, I will model shit then give up, or make the 2D car but not make the dleta's. I actualy finished my T3 then Windows died. I was going to make a fucking comeback too. Bill gates sucks.

But keep at it Azz, most problems can be resolved or traced back to something. Probably a fucked up TXD, do you need alot of textures or to rename them or could you get away with using an iggame TXD? Did oyu know you can actually use the building TXD's if you need more room, not jsut hte cars ones? You can just replace a wall texture or something, i've seen it used quite well, too.

right, think I've solved most of the issues (touch wood), so I'm working on texturing the thing. Not really sure what I'm doing, just trying things to see what looks good.

http://azz.gouranga.com/azz/argt3.png

I'm really happy with the normals on this one, never had a car look so right when shiny. I've done some new wheels I'm quite happy with, they look pretty good in game. Still not sure if I should do then matte white though.  There are three extras, not pictured is just glass for the open space at the back, the other two shown are the hard top and the black vented panel I just finished.

I'm really happy with the interior, and I think the mix of metalwork (started) and carbon fibre should work well, if I can sort out a decent carbon texture. I think the steering wheel rocks lol. The gear stick is of course modelled after the one in my car.

I've done the engine, but it looks toss untextured so it's not shown.

If anyone can tell me why ZModeler periodically resets the local axis on my components I'd be really appreciative. It's a pain in the arse having to redo them, and you can guarantee you'll miss one and drive around with your windscreen ten feet from the car..

Wonder if I'll finally get this one released? Doubt it since my ps2 should arrive tomorrow so I'll probably get disctracted. It having to compete with my newly purchased Battlefield Vietnam as it is smile

Oh yeah, and of course the licence plate is tribute to Needles lol. Not sure if it'll be on the final version or not, we'll see..

I like the wheels, and how they stick out slightly. Kind of works well with those chrome wheelarches.

The tailights seem abit strange to me, I expected you were going to do them simply horizontal, without that L shape, still looks good though, maybe neaten them up abit.

Love the wheels! Think they should actually come under the bodywork though, looks a bit silly like that.

Also, love the tail lights! Normal rectangle ones I think would look too boring

I loves those wheels, and the vented panel rocks. Please finish it? Zmods axis thing is a royal pian up the arse alright, theres always a stupid one you miss, like a door, which you never notice 'till you crash it later.

And what servers you play BFV on, if online? I feel like competing with you. Im usually NVA.
