If you texture the hinge mounting points and give them a few polygons for shape, it could end up looking even better?

Yeah, it's looking bloody great Frag,  definatley a good addition. Taken shape a whole load, and yes, if you model in a few polies on the inside of the door for a hinge, it will look a whole load sturdier.
