| I got an e-mail reply... interesting reading...
//From: James Davies Sent: 26 October 2010 15:52 To: carjackstreets@tag-games.com Subject: Image Theft
Dear Thieving Git, Just so you're aware, people have realised you stole and copied images from azz.gouranga.com. For your information, I have included an image illustrating some of the carbon copies (and plain rip off, cut and shut jobs) you have done, using original materials from this site. Had you had the courtsey to ask, then the members of this site would gladly allowed you to use their images, in their original un-adulterated forms - instead, you've made them look shite and the apple store will be getting a copy of this e-mail. Yours, A member of the GTA community.

//Hi James,
Good to hear from you! I have a sneaky feeling we have traded emails before when I was at DMA after we launched the original GTA. If so I hope you are well – it’s been a long time.
In terms of your email regarding art assets then I understand your concern, however I do need to point out that we had Jamie Bryan who was one of the original GTA 1 artists doing the vehicle art for Car Jack hence the similarity. I don’t think it’s a fair complaint given that you are essentially saying that you are unhappy that the art style (Jamies) your community has copied has then been copied by us! I’m sure you can see the problem you’ll have upholding your argument there.
Obviously we both share the same passion for GTA and as the original designer of Liberty City I’m always delighted when people take our original game and build their own ideas upon it. I don’t want to create any bad blood between my new company (Tag) and the folk at gouranga so as a way of smoothing things over how would you feel about running an exclusive comp to get art from the community into the Car Jack Streets sequel?
Look forward to hearing from you
Cheers
Paul Farley
