But what I really want to know is this: On a scale of 1 to 10, how FURIOUS did Star Trek Into Darkness make you?

Neither, I'd say... it's pretty normal for a car clutch to wear out. 3 years is maybe a bit fast, but I don't know how much you've driven it and how durable Mazda 3 clutches are.

Re: clutch

Without a doubt, shame on you. Clutches don't break that early. You must be harsh on it. Or are you talking about the clutch cable? How many kms/miles have you driven it?

Re: clutch

My previous car was a mazda 6 2003 model year, it was a USED company FLEET car and i had ZERO clutch problems with it! i driven that car for like 3 more years after i bought it without any issues except the rust, can you fault me for the rust too?

This one is 2010 mazda 3, was brand new and this happened, they refused to admit anything was wrong with the clutch, this just cost me a fortune (700€) to replace and totally ruined my summer vacation plans (infact: destroyed them).

If anyone wants to donate to my clutch fund donate by paypal on partyserver here: http://partyserver.us/?page=donate (yes i run partyserver for sa-mp)

Re: clutch

Depending on the mileage, a 2010 would be sure to be out of warranty here, stateside.

The way that friction material completely dislodged from the clutch disk makes me really suspect of the clutch. Have you tried calling Mazda directly?

If it makes you feel any better, I just did a cursory search for any TSB's on your Mazda and, while I didn't find any, I did find a staggering number of procedures and pissed off people about "clutches that exploded", were "tight one day and slipped the next" or "went to shit" with no miles.

Doesn't look like you're alone in this.

You didn't put a stock clutch back in, did you?

For those of you who are too mentally challenged to get the joke, Clutch is the name of the Houston Rocket's mascot.

Re: clutch

I remember reading about people with my car who's stock clutches went out at 10,000-30,000 miles. Stock clutch got quite a bit of flack. I'm at over 100,000 miles on my stock clutch. The feel is all wrong, it's soft and spongey, but hey it works fine.
